Subroto Bagchi: B-schools never produce an entrepreneur
by raman govindan on Jun 11, 2012 05:52 PM

100 % rt. for the few who had succeeded as an entrepreneur, there are many more who support the MNCs and National corporations in their operations.

entrepreneurs need to be alive to their environment, circumstances, the people, their reqt., understand the business process and tailor the resources to meet the demand of people!

the present day politicians fit the bill, but their horizon ends with the supporting communities and benefits that occurrs to them. and on occassions they behave like crooks!

the private entrepreneur is more secular and less partisan with his business environment. hence we should support their endeavour!

B-schoolers role

If you have production they can increase PRODUCTIVITY.

If you have profit they can increase PROFITABILITY.

It is all there in their books.

If you have neither you better keep away from them.

I know this guy
by Girish Venkatachalam on Jun 11, 2012 05:21 PM  | Hide replies

I worked in MindTree consulting for 2 years and I know this guy closely. He is a great speaker and has a way with words. But he is very insincere and rotten inside. We have a dearth of leaders in our nation, that is why people like him shine. But I do acknowledge his faculties. No denying that. Just that he is not an honest man...

Girish,we have to remember that to be honest and be a successful businessman in a place like India is not possible. So when you mention who he is- is understandable but why he is - is also understandable. There is not much of a choice.

by Ujwala Kulkarni on Jun 11, 2012 05:16 PM

but all financial disasters like the 2008 slowdown can be attributed to wrong decisions by elite B-schoolers.

All successful authors are entrepreneurs
by Rahul Khaitan on Jun 11, 2012 05:02 PM

Every successful author is an entrepreneur. It doesn't mean what they say is followed to the T. In fact, if everyone knew what to do, then each of us should have already been successful by now.

Most of what is reported in the so called management books are observations - post fact. Most of them are true and they can create a short burst of inspiration. It's like a shot of caffeine.

The real guys don't need any of this.
