This is an inspiring story for all who dream to succeed in the field of their interest. In today's world, carving a niche for oneself is the most challenging task. I wish you all the very best Alok and thank you to rediff for sharing inspiring stories. You make country proud!

according to the Erasmus Mundus website, since 2004, 2500 Indians have been awarded this scholarship. This means, every year hundreds of Indians get this scholarship.

now, the slaves are bought and leave at will. Those times are gone when slaves were chained and bought from Africa and made to work against their will. Greed for better life is the difference.
What is GOI doing watching like immpotent. They should ban IITs kind of subsidized education for those who want to brain drain or leave. We rather not have such engineer be trained for videsh. We all know that the entire remittance model is a failure. the videshi are interested in pulling out the best brain worker robotic genes as well.

we dont need these sorts of IIT engineers or doctors from reputable schools if they have to be exported to make videshi stronger!!! this is how a proper german would think. For money, many of them become MBA and even lawyers. what is the use of that indian degree when wrong purpose has to be served. India is a bheed chaal.

videshi remittance model has failed india miserably. From what our currency was during azadi and what it is now. It tells us all.

More of less, engineering admission for top institutes like IIT should make it mandatory to Serve Forces Engineering (non-core) every alternate year until a degree is obtained or after engineering. After mandatory years, they should be let out into civilian side when they understand nationalism has greater virtue than money. Those who want to leave can leave after 12th grade and not waste our Higher education resources and energy.

Are you crazy or what.... Please mind you statement ....you are only person and win biggest fellowship of Europe.... these are completely false and even reddiff is propagating this false story (rediff must confirm things before publishing false thing)... Alok you must realize by now what I am telling.... don’t behave like child and do not make fool of poor Indian people……if you wish then I may tell the truth but it will not be good for you….
Be brave and try to admit the truth…. Are you only Indian who have achieved such?
