Marrying someone for money is ok but faith should not be disowned even if ones life is at stake.

Core problem
by Gautham Nagaraj on Aug 01, 2012 01:49 AM

The reason people resort to such tactics are due to the incentives that are built into the system. These incentives are the quota based system. Remove such incentives and we will not have to face such issues. People will raise the issue of helping backward-classes. They forget that the people we should want to help those that cannot help themselves and not those that come from a specific religion. Religion has nothing to do with education and should be kept completely out of our school & university systems.

The core issue that this is happening is due to the way schools and examinations are run. Nowadays everyone gets 99% grades while knowing only 30% of the material. Any student in India spends most of his time either memorizing or attending ridiculous tutions.
There is a total disconnect on what the real issues that affect us. People should worry more about understanding what they learn and how they will use it rather than getting the highest grades possible only to fail later in life due not having basic analytical skills required in the workplace.

I will shoot the person who asks me to change my religion all just for education.
Institute who ask you this question should be outlawed, the heads locked up and the buildings razed to ground.

Unfortunately for you, there are laws that permit and protect minority run as well as majority run institutions to reserve seats for members of their communities!

So, the stance that such institutions which seek to know the religion of the applicant are tobe outlawed cannot stand before the law!
