SBI SB - MODS 9.25 % LINK DEPOSIT (FLEXI FIXED DEPOSITS)
by ravi bamble on Jan 19, 2012 12:40 AM

SBI has facility of liqid FD with 9.25 % in MODS fixed deposit. While depositer earns Fixed Deposit interest, It is liquid, linked to Savings account. The Core Banking automaticly breaks the required amount when depositor try to withdraw amount in ATM or his cheque hits banks over and above Saving Account Balance.
SBI's SAVING PLUS Account transfers periodically transfers excess funds to Liquid FD. The liquid FD also can be made by visiting Branch or Through Internet Banking,
A Great facility and great interest rate on Liuid Funds. NO NEED to change to bank offering 7 % on savings deposits.

No need to "switch" the banks....
by MHS on Jan 18, 2012 07:26 PM

...you can continue to bank with your regular bank and open an additional account with the bank offering higher SB interest. You can then park the surplus funds in the new bank account without actually closing your regular account.

To have account with Private bank or Government bank. The choice is ours. Private bank is like wife. Ever demanding. Government bank is like our Grand mother.

I strongly disagree with your view...I have account with Citibank and SBI for more than a decade. I never had to go to citibank except for once every transaction I do is through phone or internet or ATM kisok banking. But the other hand I had to visit SBI multiple times to even get an ATM card and for every query I had to go to bank taking time off from my official work.

If you stick to rules...private bank is the best option...
