Most Indian interviewers merely try to show the interviewee that they are smart. They don't interview someone with the intention of hiring a resource for their organization. I have seen many of them dig up very obscure information from somewhere on the web and ask interviewees questions on them, all just for the kick of seeing that someone doesn't know something.

Well if the manager think that the candidate is genuinely not good, he can just cut short the interview with the usual line: "will let u know". No need hint by acting funny.
After working for 20 odd years and having given a few interviews and taken many, guys and girls relax, dont let the "would be interview" get into your head. First and foremost be sure of "yourself" be very concise in what you believe are your strengths and weaknesses and why you believe you are best suited for the job. If the guy opposite is doing everything to demotivate you from taking the job then there will be a purpose a)he's testing your conviction or b) he really means it.Remember first things first its never about the job its always about YOU and the ROLE if the role excites you then just go for it. You may just start doing better than the interviewer and in no time you will be in his/her place. Always focus on the role and never the company and what it will pay. Employees who deserve more will always get their fair share no matter what over a period of time so dont be greedy and stay focussed on delivering results. There is no substitue to hard work and learning. So all the best.
