Convey my appreciation for bringing forth an almost forgotten chapter of our epic struggle against the Raj. It is true history is written by those who win and that makes the heroes from the side that was conquered almost lost into oblivion. Lest we can write more about them, dig about them and discuss about them, the true nature of our struggle against an oppressive and tyrant rule could never be unearthed. It is an apt moment that rediff thought of publishing this article. Unfortunately the recent happenings point at a society that is degrading fast. Unless we can bring a change we will have surely transformed ourselves into what we dread, a society of monsters.

Dear Rajib,
Thanks.
I could not have put this better. Our history is replete with events that provide in your face lessons. It is upto us to learn from them to ensure a better future for our nation.
A great place to visit and feel our own history. It's a shame the generation of today don't remember our struggle for freedom and the sacrifices made by our elders to make us free. It needed a Attenborough to make a film called Gandhi and tell us who he was. Why not someone make a movie on First War of Independence and screen it to all youngsters for free?
