I know of brothers,one of them with a serious hunch back, riding a modified double peddle bicycle, peddling all the way from Mysore without any sponsorship to Leh. They were beaten by weather and the army gave them shelter for many days and sent back because of snowfall. They started a bike repair shop in Mysore and are no more. I am not aware of them caring for any publicity but for pure joy of doing it.
Heartiest Congratulations for undertaking this journey. I am sure Nature would have taught you 100s of life lessons which cannot be learnt in a life time in a normal life.

You can. For that you need not to take any Bike there. Bikes are available (to hire) there in Leh Market at a cost of (INR) 800/ Day. As this August end I went there with my Family, so they made me refrain from hiring it. But next time I shall only go there for that.
