running towards fear and all is good, but be careful. Not always does this help. Imagine if the monk was to confront a bunch of hungry lions. Will he still survive running towards them....dont think so....Fear is evolutionary, which is to help us survive a potentially dangerous situation. Sometimes fleeing helps too....Take evry advice with a pinch of salt. Self-help books make for good reading....and they are written to sell.
A very interesting and thought-provoking article! And as an aside, there is a really superb film that has the theme of fear at its core, and that is Batman Begins! Its all about facing your fears, rising above them, like Bruce Wayne does with his fear of bats. In fact, in his case, he actually turns his fear of bats on to criminals, whom he targets as he attempts to finish crime in Gotham City! There are many other aspects of fear too, used by the villains also - Scarecrow and Ra-as Al-Ghul. Absolutely top-notch! A must-see movie!
