for the benefit of students a list of tier 2 and 3 institutes should be published. at least people will come to know that they exist or have they closed down (even a list of closed institues should be published). and publish the salary package of these institutes. it will give real knowledge to aspirants who want to do MBA. not everyone can make it to premier institutes. many students are happy with 2 lakhs p.a. as starting salary. i really do not understand that what kind of value does a guy from a premier institute adds? he needs a team from lower rung B-schools to execute his plan. Most of the plan is developed by these students of lower rung B-schools in the name of brainstorming during meetings. Whereas the credit goes to the guy from premier school as he got a chance to sit over these lower rung B-school guys. see if you are having all the powers then obviously your confidence level will be high and its easy to control everyone in the organisation. If any wants to do MBA in marketing then my advise is just thoroughly read Philip Kotlers book on Marketing management. Its a bible in marketing. Plus read on social media marketing, internet marketing, advertising etc. Finally there are lots of tools which institutes don't tell students for mass emailing, mass SMS ing, CRM, data mining etc of which students have no knowledge. At work place these tools are used. Students find themselves alien to these tools.

U are totally wrong. A guy from a good institute brings a lot of value to the organization in terms of handling stress, taking decisions, competing with the best with confidence. One should do MBA from IIM's or top ten institute. Anyone doing MBA from here and there caanot campare himself with the elite. Afterall it is survival of the fittest.

your comment looks like you are a follower of the most famous damaad of this country!
- CONTEMPORARY NATURE ( RELEVANCE OF ) THE CURRICULUM VIS-A-VIS CHANGING NEEDS OF THE BUSINESS WORLD
- PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE OF THE DACULTY
- INDUSTRY EFFECTIVENESS AND RELATIONSHIP WITH INDUSTRIES TO GET FUNDING
because the above points are way out of league for Indian press and media which resorts to the feeding the SAME SH^T based on salary packages and 'POWERFUL BUSINESSMEN' sh^t . Cos it is easy to churn out this SH^T than to do actual research into what they teach at schools.
ALSO ON THE OTHER HAND, INDIANS ( US) TOO GREEDY , CHEAP , MONEY MINDED SPECIES WITH LITTLE OR NO INCLINATION TO 'KNOWLEDGE' ( WHILE WE PREACH THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL KINDS OF HOLY SH^T).
SHORT CUTS, FORMULA BASED DEGREES WHERE A PERSON IS MEASURED BY THE PACKAGE ( CTC) THAN ANY THING.
This ranking is just nonsense. FMS is at 14th actually it should be in top 5 NMIMS is better than great lakes I haven't heard about jaipuria. Fore is much more beeter than amrita. IBS hyderbad is only a decent institute but the ROI for IBS is very low and i don't know how IBS pune has come in the ranking. It seems carrer360 has recieved money from many institution to put them at front. Their Top 75 college list is just a misguiding one
ISB should not be in the rankings. It is again & again being considered for the rankings becoz because billionaire Indian Corporates invested in it & they want to redeem their image. Otherwise ISB's reputation has lately taken a severe hit what with most of their eminent directors caught in the biggest corporate scandals.

Directors caught in corporate scandals: 1. Rajat Gupta: Also an alumnus of IIT Delhi, Harvard Business School, Mckinsey, P&G and several other institutions. 2. Anil Kumar: Ditto above. 3. Prof. Rao: Retired faculty and Ex - head of IIM - Bangalore for a long duration.
Should all other institutions that the above individuals represented be thrown out of rankings? Why the singled out treatment for ISB Mr Ashtekar?
Economist ranks them based on * Open new career opportunities * Personal development & education experience * Increase in salary * Potential to network
