Imported apples are available in India throughout the year and they are expensive. From the month of august Simla, and J&K apples come and they are very cheap but since last 2-3 years the apple importers mafia are purchasing all Indian apples and keeping them in cold storage. After 1 year they buy fresh apples and keep in cold storage and sell the old apple at higher rate which go bad after keeping 1 year in cold storage. This way they are making money by selling imported apples at higher price.

trend started by reliance. Same case with CNG. before reliance entry it was selling at around Rs20/kg. now it is at par with diesel.
Rediff copy/paste from Western Magazines..They should write about Indian fruits Guava/kharbooja/rasbharee(not raspburry)/kakree/Anaar/Chiku/shareefaa etc.

Why mango because it is product of indian sub continent.This are euro and us brand marketing
mango, guava, jack fruit,jamun, sitafal, banana, lime, papaya are equally beneficial if not better than foreign origin fruits and cheaper. even tender coconuts are nutritious. Fruits consumed raw so have many health benefits compared to rice-dal, veg etc. Also non sweet fruits like cucumber, tomato, capsicum, beetroot should be consumed raw in salad.
if you combine fruit and vegetables in daily diet you will not know illness
