Karela or bitter gourd is also excellent for diabetics.
The author could have mentioned which are the vegetables/fruits which should be avoided by diabetic patients.

If you are from Maharashtra/ Gujarat, most of these items are available in plenty in both these states. If it is the names that is confusing you, please let me know and I will help you...
