Dear Chakravarti and Kulkarni, I agree with you that not all scientists who had done great work were recognized with Nobel prize, but please tell few of the contributions of IITs to towards the betterment of common peoples life so the we can proudly say that IITs are great and do wonderful service to the humankind and science (engraining). go to any big engineering consultancy or firm you will realize what IITians are doing for our country.
It's truly said that IIT is an integral part of the Indian education System. Who can be better than the prime minister, the economic scholar, to say it.
