Aircraft maintenance Engineers are also in a bad position. I am a qualified AME since 3 years still no job. At least if you become AME and not get a job then only 3-4 lakhs of training money gets wasted. In case of unemployed pilots they loose 30-40 lakhs.. Very very difficult to find AME or pilot job. But training institute never tell you this. If you go to a flying college they tell you that there is lot of jobs and the job condition will improve. In the end they want to earn money by giving training. People getting training will loose money. Institute will not loose anything and only earn money.

Pilots...........

There are abt 9000 unemployed pilots in india. There is no Govt agency which looks into the matters of these ppl. The advtg goes on and there is no check from any agency abt the illusions the public have reg the airline industry. It is in doldrums the world over.Spending huge amounts abt 40 L to get the licence and then a job.Today, the airlines ask the pilot to bear training costs like simulator and actual flying costs on an airplane...not trainer planes but 737 or the like. There again the Govt agency does not check the facts or position.i sincerely advice parents and wannabe pilots to not go in for airline courses like hostess/pilots/technicians, etc. There are no jobs in the airlines for another 5 years.

Being a pilot

A pilot has to be in perfect condition in all respects- health, hearing, speaking etc; Its a very responsible job taking lives in a petrol bubble that which flies. This is the reason, job of a pilot is different from all other form of drivers. Unfortunately, this position too has become a salable commodity - with influence and power connections in the right place. Salary is well over 5 L plus all possible perks.

A commercial pilot is NOT mad by just attending a simple flying course. Its your "flying hours" that count. There is minimum amount of flying hours that you need to have in order to even be allowed to pilot a plane . The avg salary of pilots with the required flying hours is close to 7 L per month with 4 or 5 star stay where ever they fly. Therefore its always good to invest into becoming a pilot. Its just that the industry has landed itself in trouble thanks to the sad business model.

Are you an idiot? The starting salary of pilots is about 1 lakh a month if you work in an airline. If 100 people get pilot license, not even 5 will get airline job. Others start at 30-40 thousand per month. 90 percent people with pilot license never even find a job as a pilot. Their training money goes waste. I have a friend who took 30 lakhs loan for his pilot training and is now working in a call center for last 2 years because he did not get job as pilot. His father is paying 40,000 rupees per month to bank for the loan. Very bad condition.
