Same here man...I knew only one ..guessed three all others were wrong...
TAKING PRIDE IN GLORIFYING FOREIGN INVADERS WHO MADE US SLAVES, HAS BECOME THE ORDER OF THE DAY.
PITY. CAN'T YOU REMEMBER A FEW ORIGINAL INDIAN HERITAGE SITES LIKE THE MILLENIUM OLD THANJAVUR BIG TEMPLE, AGAIN MILLENIUM OLD GANGAI KONDA CHOLAPURAM, THE GREAT HAMPI CAPITAL OF MIGHTY VIJAYNAGAR EMPIRE, NALANDA , SO MANY FORTS OF THE GREAT CHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ.
CANT YOU FIND ONE FORT OF THE GREATEST WARRIOR KING MAHARANA PRATAP SINGH WHO FOUGHT AND WON 80 BATTLES WITH AKBAR.
CANT YOU FIND ONE REMAINING MONUMENT OF THE PERIOD OF CHANDRA GUPTA MAURIA THE GREAT
GLORIFYING SOMETHING MARVELOUS , EVEN BUILT BY ENEMY IS A GOOD TRAIT. NO DOUBT.
BUT, TRY TO GLORIFY YOUR OWN PAST AND YOUR OWN ANSCESTORS ALSO.

What is original defies easy definition ?
To some tribals, even the great monuments you are describing as 'original Indian heritage' might be built on destruction. Nobody is/ was there to write their history. Choosing a convenient point in history and calling that 'India' is narrow focus. I would recommend we chose an India that works for everyone..not just making one caste/community or religion the enemy. While we must not gloss over the fact, we need to recognize that wrongs have been committed in every era.

Kirti Mandir, or Temple of Fame, is the cenotaph of the Gaekwads, located in the city of Vadodara.
It was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III to perpetuate the glorious memory of his beloved ancestors. The sun, the moon and the earth in bronze with the undivided map of India adorn the sikhara of Kirti Mandir. It was built in 1936 as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III.

Kirti Mandir is built by Nanji Kalidas Mehta in Porbandar in Memory of Mahatma Gandhi which is more famous than Gaekwad's Cenotaph. it is different matter that rediff has used wrong photograph.

But isn't this the photo of the Kirti Mandir just beside the house of Gandhiji in Porbandar? It looks similar to that.
