Nothing

There is nothing specific to salaried in this article. All of these provisions are applicable for all income tax payers - salaried or otherwise, unless the author wants to highlight that only salaried class pays IT through the heading ;-)

I have a basic question may be a lay mans doubt. How one invests his black money in Indian rupees in foreign banks ? Foreign banks may not accept rupee deposits. Even if they accept, the INR is accepted only in Indian sub continent.Hence the money has to come back to India. Does it come by legitemately or as black money ? if it comes back as black money it cn not be invested in any leagal business or in the share market. Does it mean the huge amounts float in the indian ecoconomy as black money ? when it is said that the black economy is growing @ 13% per annum, where will it find its application.

Indian Politicos and Bureaucrats are symbol of insinuation and just run syndicates of self-profit because the culture suits sub-literates only and works for such people only.

you seem to be a dumb man. congress is actually working for the aam aadmi, which is why it is squeezing the khas aadmi. any person who is (capable of) paying tax (about 3% of the population) is a khaas aadmi and congress does not bother about this constituency

you moron try to understand that middle class is not the vote bank of congress. Be sure that they will never do anything good for you. Rest they are doing everything for their traditional votebank, who come out in masses to vote. Be assured that congress will retrun to power next time and people like you and me will go cursing these idiots for another 5 years

Budget 2012: 8 ways it impacts the SALARIED

This budget can be termed as a very harsh one. One in which the Congress forgot about the Aam Aadmi, on whose vote it came to power.

Getting back the illegally stashed black money from foreign banks, would have given the Govt sufficient funds and the budget itself would probably have been a surplus one. Secondly, there does not seem to be any cap on the spending of the Govt. For example, it was reported that the foreign visits of the President costed the tax payer a whoping Rs 205 cr. If such expenses of the whole Govt is considered, it would be quite a chunk. Atleast if such frivolous expenses are curbed, the need for additional taxes would have reduced.

The Tax payer gets hardly anything tangible from the Govt. For instance an IT Asseessee, after paying IT for decades gets no Health care, no social security, no old age pension or support, absolutely nothing from the Govt which has sucked his blood for so many years. If the Congress is sincere, why does it not bring in some kind of such benefits for the IT payers?

Squeezing the salaried!!!

When the Govt needs a few billion, what should it do? Bring the black money from Swiss banks? No no, it will take ages. Raid all those palatial mansions belonging to politicians< No, no again. Political compulsions don’t recommend that (the allies will cross over to the oher side). What about throwing all those scamsters into jail and recover all those lakhs of crores of scams money. No no, throwing them to jail will be an infringement on their freedom. Eureka, Eureka, we have a solution, let’s turn to the gooses that lay the golden eggs every year. You guessed it right, squeeze the salaried!!!

Agreed! But what we are doing to counter this? Why we don't vote(I do) during election and stop spending that holiday in trips? Vote for better candidate and turn teach them a lesson? Why people are not supporting Ramdev or Anna who are fighting to good for us? What we get by sitting in home and talking like this? Throw this Congis to Arabian sea this time atleast.

Mr. Chandrashekara, It is important that every one votes. But, it is a fallacy perpetuated that then the right candidates will get elected. The Politicians do not care about the votes from urban areas. Besides, people do not have a right to reject all the candidates.

I do vote, but I am getting a feeling of disenchantment with the voting process. What we have today is majoritocracy and not a democracy. If a candidate gets majority of cast votes, he is declared winner. It is a different thing that he may get only 5% of the total votes in his constituency and that he might have even blatantly purchased these 5% votes for a bottle of liquor and a packet of biryani. Remember that the total share of taxpayers in this country is only 3%, but they get the same rights as the 97% others that dont pay income tax. Even when it comes to taxing commodities and services, govts run by politicians play the game of majority versus minority. They successfully create systems to benefit some majority of the population to squeeze the remaining minority of population.
