its a good travel article.not shown karwar and gokarna.have heard om beach is great in gokarna. but anyway Sandeep Parkhi, well done. i never heard of all these names and places, only heard of the bigger towns. so thanks for info
'This area remains isolated from the outside world for 2-3 months during monsoon.'Anyone reading this would think that Konkan is near Siachen Glacier or the Himalayas. This is just 1/3rd Konkan tour.

You have missed the context. The first page says that "Konkan receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season and earlier this area used to remain cut-off from the outside world for 2-3 months during monsoon." It is clearly mentioned that "earlier" it was the case. And it is already mentioned that with better infrastructure now a days, the conditions have improved and as a result, tourism also has increased. The sentence on the second page is regarding the historical reasons behind the community wrongly called as "misers".
The author has not done a konkan trip but an extension of Mumbai trip.If he has not visited Harney,Ratnagiri,Lanja,Rajapur,Malvan beach,Takarlietc he has not visited even the konkan coastline in Maharashtra..The view of the sea from the hill near Jaitapur is fantastic.

I agree that this is not complete Konkan. I have never said that we toured entire Konkan. But still, the area we toured is Konkan only. The place you mentioned "Harne" is how far from "Aanjarle" what we visited? Its not even 3 kms. Ratnagiri you mentioned is how far from Ganapatipule? Its just 20 kms.

They have posted only 11 pics from more than 700 that I clicked. The article is not about photography. The content is more important.

Hi Sandeep,
Very Good job, but I wish you can take all criticism in little more positive manners, all your replies somehow seems arrogant....remember this is national website and reader expect highest standards of quality, nothing wrong in that..

Its not about being arrogant. I have just tried to clarify my stands. I agree that on a national website, quality is important. At the same time, I would appreciate Rediff for publishing articles of amateurs like me. I am not a professional writer or photographer. When we toured, I never thought that the pics would be on Rediff. They were just for personal memories. Similarly article was first published on my own website. It was not written keeping Rediff in mind. On a national level, there is bound to be some criticism since there are people who are always unhappy with everyone in the world. And they have a right to do so. So its ok for me. At the same time, Rediff is one of those sites on which user comments are most vulgar and cheap. I had asked Rediff several times to publish comments only after moderation. They are moderating them anyways later. On my site, I publish comments only after moderation.

I agree that this is not complete Konkan. I have never said that we toured entire Konkan. But still, the area we toured is Konkan only. We have a lot more to cover and that will be covered in next tour.
