Balancing between intake and output of calories is most important.consume calories needed,and work and exercise burnt out calories on absolute regular daily basis.make habit to cultivate body without much botheration.

obesity is leading cause of diabetes almost there is no role of heredity it is complete life style disorder no control no cure by pills and insuline shots first of all you have to change your life style avoid consumtion of direct simple sugar add brisk walking fo30 minutes add pranayam surya namaskar only by these efforts you can keep your diabetes in 100% control....all the best

I follow the natural hygienists who advocate avoiding all meat, diary, and very importantly REFINED/fragmented foods like refined white flour, sugar, and oils

In context to India, few people consume sugar and maida to excess but MOST people consume high levels of cheap refined rancid oils (sunflower, corn, peanut, margarine, etc) These oils are omega-6 long chained fatty acids which are rancid, give rise to free radicals etc. They promote obesity by being stored as fat.

It is better to cut down on cheap oil consumption drastically. Use only coconut oil or ghee sparingly as was done in the past
