Exceptional cases
by ProudtobeNorthindian on Sep 12, 2011 11:35 PM

Don't misguide people by telling the story of some exceptions.
It is true that there are exceptions in all areas but these are not the trend.
Thousands of people are forced to do low level job just because of lack of education.
In share market many people will misguide that rakesh jhunjhunwala became millionaire due to stock market and the truth is most of retail investors loose money in stock market.

Very true article.
by brijesh on Sep 12, 2011 09:06 PM

Education is just to make sure that incase you don't have enough talent to do something on your own, you can always work for others :)

Check the case of Dhirubhai, Bill Gates, Warren Buffets and many more who without any specific degree created an empire.

hat's the problem with you people.. Dhirubhai Ambani was 7th Pass and he build a empire, which is there for every one to see. You say cracking IIT,CAT, CA is difficult, then who stops who from making such a big empire as Reliance. Paper degree is ONLY meant to get JOBS, If you got Guts try to be a successful entrepreneur or making some inventions like Einsten! Don't bark about the paper degree)

I passed out B.tech from a NIT warangal with just 44%, i felt no use of this degree, didn't take a degree certificate, I am working in a MNC as Tech manager & earning enough. No one bothers abt ur degree, u got to prove urself and guts to persue ur dream not to discouraged by lack of qualifications....

Ravi,
You would have learnt something while doing B.tech which has helped you to discharge your duty as Tech manager. The paper certificate or the marks is not that critical....what matters is what you learn and how you use it to achieve your objective. This doesnot mean you should not get educated....education will help in gaining the technical knowledge and skills. If you are dedicated, you can build upon what you have learnt and improvise.

Qualification alone is not enough.
by chanakya maurya on Sep 12, 2011 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

Experience also counts.

Again experience alone is not enough.

It is the combination of a good degree, experience from highly experienced and ambitious seniors, a power team, plus the basic human virtues that make a good visionary.

One must also be honest to oneself and the goals of the organization.

There are no fixed and rigid formulas for building an empire like that of Tata, Reliance and Infy.

A lot of factors combined together and a lot of people teamed together make it possible to create a successful and enviable corporate entity.

The degree takes one to a certain degree; however, thence it is the wild wild wilderness where one has to fend for oneself with the knowledge, experience and reliance on the teamwork and trusting the right people.

Faith in human values is very important.

by rajiv kumar on Sep 12, 2011 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

Is this again a campaign of HR people (looser in life). That since they failed to get qualification and got only passion, hunger, shrewedness etc.. (Qualities that are not quantifiable and hence they have an edge)...
Please dont mislead people.. You dont know what it takes to crack IIT, CAT, CA
