The real danger to India
by jaggu on Sep 12, 2011 10:57 AM

The ral danger to India is not from pollution on festival days - it comes from 200 nukes & unlimited stock of suicide bombers aimed by terrorist nation.

We should export our environmentalists in cartons to Khyber pass to cut down the nuclear & RDX pollution also.

I am stealing the subject from sunil kaushal since it is very inspiring, as far as this article on rediff is concerned. Imgaine the amount of pollution we are causing to the environment. the abuse of plaster of paris, thermacol, plastic and other degenerative and carcinogenic products associated with the Lord Ganesha?
We need to realise this is all going to snowball in a major catastrophe if we dont respect the environment. People have succumbed to this kind of cheap entertainment in search of religious bliss and turned it into a horrible mindless festival of noise, waste and corruption.

Hinduism is a noisy religion
by Vivek Dev on Sep 12, 2011 07:38 AM

Hinduism is a noisy religion because it is the religion of life. Our celebrations are noisy unlike that of other religions that are observed in deathly silence.

Instead of serving any good cause to society Religious celebration nowdays create havock by road blocking, noise pollution, misuse of already short supplied electricity and other resources.People of all religion should be taught that true religion lies in humen service, compassion and cleanliness.Since God exist in all living beings, one need not to find it at Lalbaugh cha raja,Balaji,Any Mosque,Church or Gurudwara.Instead of Wasting billians on these reigious show offs, the resources and humen efforts should beutilised for betterment of socially anf econamically weaker section of the society. And be sure GOD will be more happy.

The Celebration of Ganeshotsav is the very essence of the spirit of Bharat. Sanathan Dharm is the soul of BharatVarsh and few paid articles by UPA will not be able to tarnish this glorious tradition called Ganeshotsav.

The Real Danger!
by mohd uddin on Sep 11, 2011 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

The real danger isnt wether these festivities are political or apolitical, but how these so-called "festivites" hamper the emergency services.
These blocking of roads on such a major-scale should banned asap. But who will bell the cat? And who would want to loose their major vote-bank?

I agree.. but if other communities can do their daily prayers over loudspeakers than why cant ganesh utsav be celebrated.
I do agree that sound decibels should be kept low and road blocks non-existent.

For your kind information, When the emergency services are called for, The entire road is cornered and people allow the ambulance to go. Which will go faster than stuck in traffic. This incidence happened in mumbai and my friend was witness to it. Dont point fingers on religion context. All religions come in spirit to there respective culture, On ED and moharum muslims do namaz and road show in Roads. Christs do it for christmas and others.
All is fare in spirit of humanity .

POLITICS WILL ALWAYS REMAIN SUPREME
by Jagjit Ahuja on Sep 11, 2011 11:51 AM

If the definition of Politics is properly analysed than only we will be able to understand that why it will remain supreme in every walk of human life - personal or community based . That is why these religious festivals have been attracting the maximum attention of politicians . It is the best and quickest source of display of powers to get the authority .
None of the politicians are bothered that these festivals cause inconvinience to the common man , create noise pollution, traffic jams, and allow many other ills to creep in the society . The best example is the Dandia Dance during Nauratas in Gujarat .
Governing system must stop their celebrations by encroaching the roads . Religion should be treated as personal property and should be kept limited to homes or the within the places designated for this purpose not on the roads
