Probably what he means by weight is just the mass acquired from body fats. The myth he is trying to debunk is that - since nonveg is high on protein, you are going to gain less of fats and more of muscles. Hence non-veg food is good for health.
There is a huge market of protein supplements. There are also MLMs designed to sell these bogus products. The underlying myth being, since veg food has less of protein and none of the veg foods has all the nine essential amino acids, you need protein supplements. It is important such myths are busted because too much of anything (including protein) is bad.

This guy is a sureshot vegetarian, he is confusing oily and messy non veg food with healthy and no fat non-veg.
