While touring KN, especially Bangalore, i kept hearing the phrase repeatedly - "Kannada marthad re". People used to say this a bit aggressively. I am not attuned to the local culture so i used to say, "sorry, but i dont speak kannada". But this used to infuriate them even more. Can anyone help me. What does this phrase mean.

Uncalled for stupid comment, which presumably is by a Kannadiga. BTW, the North Indians laugh at Kanndiga Hindi !

and the sentence means, hey r.a.s.c.a.l please speak in Kannada, there is no element of please in it

So, what is your problem, get out and go and photograph it yourself.
Please let such places be what they are - PRISTINE & let real connoisseurs drop down to relax their minds here. Don't hype them just for paid publicity. Or else, the Marketing Wolves & Showy Idiots will screw up such places in no time.
