UK degrees are worth for nothing, dont go there.if they keep tightening rules not to allow Indians to work there then we should also stop paying for their citizens education with the high fee we pay. Canada and Australia are the best.

NRIs to please note

NRIs to please note

Due to certain activist Movements of late, there is some awareness among Indian people about the current governance. However we can not expect the same across the Globe. But global awareness is crucial in the event of any mass revolutions taking place.

World leaders often treat Indian leaders on par, appreciate and reward them. It is expected from the NRIs in US and UK to keep the world informed about the following four facts through all possible media.

One on who in fact is governing India.
Second on how the investigations are going on in matters of huge financial scams.
Third about the ownership and partisan functioning of Indian Media
Fourth on the factual intents of present Government on Anti corruption & money in Swiss Banks

Obsession for White skin
by Common Sense on Oct 20, 2011 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

We should be ashamed to write/read this article. Gloablization is nothing but hidden way for while people to rule the world. Unfortunately obsession for white skin continues. We used to educate here and serve them by migrating there. Now we are promoting even educating there.
We should promote our universities and attract foreiners here. That should be way to go.

why not? our education is a sham, there are no real world skills,no emphasis on research or creative thinking at all, and who do you think the people who work here in service sector are serving?

General awareness
by Joy Kutty on Oct 20, 2011 11:26 AM  | Hide replies

I have lot of interaction with European and american engineers who visit our company. One thing I notices is that if you ask any questions other than his field he is ignorant. what I mean if you ask him any instrument, electrical or any other engineering based question he cannot answer or even he does not understand unlike our Indian engineers.
I think the curriculum/syllabus in our Indian Universities are much better and elaborative and vast while imparting specific knowledge to one subject and an general education to other fields too. Much better balanced.

One more thing is when you asked a non-indian
about something he does not know, he would
plainly say "I dont know I am sorry" but its an
insult to an Indian to say "I dont know" so he
goes on trying to project that he knows everything.

Even you asked a address, however ignorant,
the stranger on the street will show you the way.
This knowledge management by Indians sometimes
is indeed helpful and most of the times NOT.

I doubt if engineering students learned anything
which in college. All Indians learn or educate
themselves only after graduating the school,
college. Most students consider studying as an
obstacle to their enjoyment and only want to get
rid of them each year.

Educated Indians
by Vivek Dev on Oct 20, 2011 09:06 AM  | Hide replies

"Educated Indian" are a bad advertisement for education. Most scams, frauds and white collar crime is committed by "educated Indians." India survives because of uneducated Indians, humble people who go about doing their jobs for a pittance day after day, night after night- the auto driver, the truck driver, the police constable, the soldier, the municipal conservancy worker, the child cleaning dishes at restaruants, the bai who helps out with domestic chores and so on. These people are the real heroes of India, not the fat cats educated scum bags who cheat their own people and others 24x7x365 and 24x7x366

Greed and miserliness are fed through
our education system, unconsciously.
The educated class knows how to strive
for more and more to oneself and less
and less for others.

Sharing with others is virtually unknown
among the educated class for reasons
best known to none. Be it food or space
on the road, we like to grab as much
possible and leave others with little or none.

Thats why the rich poor divide is so vast
in our country. Not that poor is holy but
when the poor become rich they indulge
in the same, hoarding, evading, cheating
scamming, scandalizing, and worst we
know how to justify all that.

Non-sensical list
by Abu Mounir on Oct 20, 2011 09:01 AM

This list is meangingless
Where you go to study depends a lot on what your subject of study is? To do undertake higher stuies/research on, say the early growth of Buddhism or the Mauryan adminsitration, you have to obviosly come to an Indian university like JNU or University of Kolkata which has considerable research material on the subject. Many Indian universities are far beetr than those in countries like New Zealand or Australia or Italy. The list betrays the colonialy vanquished mind-set where anything to do with the "Pucca Sahib" is worthwhile, the rest useless!

once a person came out of institution, he starts his career, after certain years of career ,it happens that many things become either absolute or recidual knowledge goes to zero or very little.there are very few who are in touch with the basic fundamental facts required to face challenges ahead. Before going for mid career cources, one should carry out effective analysis of recidual knowledge ,recidual interests, functional interest, and suiatble career planning .many times we donot know exactly what is required and what is functional recidual ability,so its a very thought ful process and one should careful decide ,even may seek some help such as MAP before deciding any thing into such investment
