There are more than 1300 castes under SC/ST category, 99% of the castes are hardly getting any benefit of reservation, Government should immediately divide the 22.5% reservation for SC/ST among all the 1300 castes proportionately.

1. Divide the reservation across caste which falls under SC/ST 2. Ensure that most deprived candidates are awarded the ice cream of reservation in descending order.
NO ONE CAN BUY PROFESSIONALISM FROM EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE ITS CREATES ON JOB , HIGHLY EDUCATED IT DOES NOT MEAN HIGHER RETURN OR HIGHER USE OF KNOWLEDGE . A SYLABUS OF PROFESSIONAL DEGREE IS A COLLECTION OF UNEDUCATED BUT EXPERINCED SUCCESS PEOPLE . INDIAN TECHNICAL GRADUTAES ARE NOT BELIEVABLE .

dont say those rankings are useless... every kid in india going for GRE and TOEFL judiciously follows the same rankings ROFL ...
What Mr. Murthy said is a wake up call to Mr. Kapil Sibal and he needs to take note of Mr. Murthy's advice seriously. Future IITIANs will remember you for your contribution - if you can put back our IITs and IIMBs and ISB back to their old glories. Quality of MBAs, especially MBAs on fast track i.e.one year MBAs are definitely going down. With Institutes like ISB collecting Rs.20.00 lakh for its one year MBA course - one can imagine the dept of knowledge even the brightest of the students can acquire during one year where he or she is exposed to over 30 and odd management subjects. These Institutes thrive on the high IQ level of their students and not because of their contributions.
The reason for present substandard of students and faculty is not that they are Idi**s, but working culture has changed from onld days. You can find now faculties discussing politics leave behind students. Regionalism is dominating now in all recruitments, even more dangerous than reservation politics.

hello to all eeediots who still believe entrance examination is key to innovation... whoever had told these fools ..... i mean ..man we are scientists and engineers ..how can we entertain such an illiterate argument which has no scienific basis
Mr NRN Murthy is right. He has only talked about IITs. But it is the same in all Eng. or Tech. Institutions. When Jairam Ramesh said about the lack of world class facilities, Sibal came out in the open critisizing him. Jairam was equally right. The curriculum and the selection processes are watered down to suit the present day petty politicians' pressure, reducing the otherwise better education system. The present system turns out more engineers and technologists, majority of them don't contribute to the welfare of the society. It is a sorry state of affairs. Quota system over the past 60 years has neither alleviated the down-trodden or helped in upliftment of people below BPL. The reservation taking into consideration the creamy layer will only be the solution no political party would lift their fingers against the present caste-based reservation. God save the real down-trodden.

IITs are not colleges of engineering. They enjoy a special, privileged status for no reason.
When EVMs were first introduced they were touted as tamper proof. One IIT faculty strongly supported the government claim. Last year one engineer from some ABC college of engineering demonstrated conclusively that EVMs could be hacked. So what do the IITians have to say? Are EVMs tamper proof?
