Very very interesting and an eye opener for youngsters!!!

Vineet is a typical case/scenerio of an Indian intelligent guy who excel in academics but have no future strategy for self. They row many boats assuming they may get a start salary of 20 Lacs plus or they will start a new venture which will give them a Sabir Bhatia type of returns or they may join their parental business. In this journey they get further confused because they lack strategic self planning.
If we are slightly careful in selecting our future and are clear in mind to start something which Vineet is now doing then there was no need for any MBA , he could have started at 22 yrs of age and would have been successful by now. He could have done part time MBA. No MBA institute inculcate the entrapreunership in us. We have given so many projects to young IIM guys to take as self starters and create an appropriate Buss Model and then strategise eveything and manage independently but in my 25 yrs of career I have hardly come across more than 5% success.I suggest that our youngsters should clearly decide during graduation only the way forward otherwise this hit n trial method of Vineet will keep frustrating young lads. Jai Hind

If you start a business, please make sure it is NOT about teaching other people how to write clearly and cohesively.

Dear All,

You are right but our country do not allow us to grow as per our strategy and self planning.
I too had problems.
I graduated for SVNIT;Surat in Mechanical Engg and joined NID for PG Prog. Only 3 seats were there in 1983. 2 guys found it tough and left in between. I requested Director that let me join with 1984 batch for which he shown me rules and regulations and made me frusturated to leave NID.
I had no options but to start new venture. I joined IOCL as Management Trainee in 1984 but many seniors were jealous about my progress and you know our politics; i had 8 transfers in 12 years of service ;and finally my jealous seniors succeded as i do not want to compromise with my technical performance as i was posted for nontechnical remote location. I started my own consultancy organisation in 1996 in the areas of energy management and quality management and at age of 35 years i became entpnr.
this is the sad part that i lost 12 years of my young age life. No doubt, i completed MBA and many other professional diplomas after completing the age of 35.
if you do analysis, there are factors which are eye opener for all youngsters..

BS , what engineering grads learn here in India, we learn more in our Pre Grad level (12th Grade). Unfortunately Indians can only start soft businesses like a portal or use technology or R&D developed elsewhere
