..is funny. Just because some idiot has taken a risk, he is going to expect a return of 18% per annum and hence ask from another idiot wanting to buy the same property at 18% higher one year down the line. Asking for a price is fine. You can ask for anything..why only 18% more? The question is - is there another idiot readily available to let you get your expected return? As the inventory figures tell us - the number of such idiots willing to buy at any price the builder asks, is fast reducing. Look at what's going on in another risky market - the stocks. The blood-bath going on there, currently is proof enough that your expected returns are not necessarily the returns that a market will give.
now i understand why mayavati - UP chief minister want to make UP in four smaller states, because of this four cities will be developed nice idea one way.
I think Mumbai is THE WORST city when it comes to value for money or standard of living. There are only a handful of decent , livable pockets in Mumbai - occupied by netajis and corporate honchos and babus. Rest mumbai comprises of over priced, over crowded slums.
If one visits places like Powai, Andheri, Dadar,Chembur or even far flung Kalyan or Dombivli, one would wonder - lol, these places are so crowded, like honey combs. They are like termite colonies. The traffic is a nightmare, vehicular pollution is unbearable, honks and noise levels are deafening. Its like living in toxic factory. Early morning smog is like a thick fume, wet directly going into your lungs. The prices of essential commodities are anywhere between 25% to 30% higher than the market rates. Because shopkeeprs fleece their shop rents from the consumer. They slap that overhead on every kilo potato you buy.
It is unimaginable for any one even consider living in such over crowded and polluted places outside India. Yet, people foolishly pay lacs of rupees , some times crores just to live there for STATUS.
I wonder why people choose such life ? Why cant they just be content with those 25 lacs and move back to some decent healthy place in a small town and raise their families.
