growing population is not really a problem dude, you have to grow accordingly. Since we can not grow because most of us AreEkNumberkeChootiya, incapable and corrupt hence we curse population.
Its in your hand to turn this into boon or bane.

population can be turned itno boon thats true.... but even if its a boon from where the country will provide the huge amount of food, fuel, power, drinking water for all its people....??? Thats the most important question....

As far as other methods are concerned, first of all its a nuiscance to use them, when you get in to mood, you dont want to waste time in taking the precautions first, you just want to go for it.
Pills are also known to have side effects also in a fully corrupt country like india you never know if these are counterfeit.
And last point Man is not happy wearing the helmet, its general perception that helmet reduces the "MAJA" of it.
