I rememember to have once sat in a short flight from jaipurto N. Felhi ob a n3ext seat inindian Airlines plane .She was dignified elder person then, But still while reaching out from car to the zPlane Entrance Ladder there were 7feet high curtains all along theTarmacof the airport. That was Baro hukam and Hukam culture of Feudal Jaipur till late seventies!
Of course ,she had impeccable English pronunciation and breeding. She would listen to commoners with utmost courtesy and attention.
Over-all she seemed to be very kindly disposed human Being.D. Goel

by sam puzhakkal on May 16, 2011 04:18 AM  | Hide replies

Rediff wants to compare Indian Kaam wali bais with British royals! Great, we can always bank upon rediff to come up with some unbelievably pathetic articles...all inspired with some event in the west, ofcourse.

ShowCase Pieces
by original on May 15, 2011 04:10 PM

These are showcase pieces meant for public display and production. We were one of top economies before industrial revolution took place. It's the luxury, lust and laziness of our so called royals that got us phuc*ed for 10000 years and process is still going on(Politicians being new scion's) . Mongol's(Moguls),British, Persian,Greek everyone came conquered ,phuc*ed,converted, enslaved, destroyed our culture ,confidence etc... Provided we would have hindu kings who would have been ambitious enough to rule from kanyakumari to kandhar the entire south asia peninsula would have been in different shape. Some of them did rule to a greater extent however the ruler's didn't breed innovative, ruthless martial culture for future generations. Every ruler have to be cruel in some or other way however if the local guy looted at-least plunder or luxury items remains within country (exception being 21st century where swis bank a/c ). Mogul's looted wealth exploited our differences !!! British were even worse ---They systematically created divide and inbreed ed hatred for our own belief' and inferiority complex that still exist after 60 years of independence. Then comes so called politician which makes mentioned above parties look saint. I believe the problem have been nations forefather at the helm(Gandhi not a visionarie,Nehru had his own flaws)!!Bose,Bhagat singh might have been better choice during the construction of will's of indian nation.American independence is classica

Princess Niloufer was great, her influence in HYD even now
by J ADITYA on May 12, 2011 10:03 PM

I don't want to talk politics and other useles stuff, but Princess Niloufer was an awesome lady. She gave away a palace for a hospital for children which is still in operation and provides medical facilities for those who need it but can't afford it (I was born in the same hospital). I hope India has those kind of women more. But today unfortunately even a hospital of such legacy is involved careless and greedy activities to earn some quick money. The other thing that surprises me is that today's government refuses to recognize the work such people.
