Hi Hanu,

Thanks a ton for writing and sharing this. I've been going thru a many emotions about bringing up an infant and honestly losing my sanity once in a while. Each tough day makes me appreciate my mom even more and I too pray I could be half as good as her...

Love ruchi

Its a selfish world
by sri sri on May 05, 2011 01:11 PM

In this very materialistic world, I see everyone so selfish and mom's are no great exceptions. How many celebrity moms we have come across who exploit their own children? Basically, people get babies mostly out of compulsions and/or for their own excitements. They impose on their children what they themselves could not accomplish and more so, in many instances, see children as their future security in their old age - both physical/financial and emotional. In this regard, a mom is definitely much better than other relationships like wife/husband/siblings etc, yet they are not as unconditional as they are made out to be is my perception. Not that I hate my mom or anything like that, but I still see the human imperfections even in the moms.. they still are closer to divinity on relative terms! Long live motherly Love!

Godly mother
by Boovarahan Srinivasan on May 05, 2011 06:04 AM  | Hide replies

There are bad sons / daughters but not bad mothers . Every mother is God in herself. When a person renounces the world all people prostrate before him but he has to prostrate before his mother and such a highly respectful place is given to motherhood . But alas ! such a wonderful emotion is given just a day in calendar in the present culture.

Beautifully said. An uplifting piece. No child can reciprocate the Godly love of a mother for her child!

Every time you meet mother
by Adjana Waklot on May 04, 2011 09:01 PM

Simply remembering mother on Mother's day with a rose or gift is not enough. Every time you meet your mother pay respects, call her, ensure her well being etc. Then only we can claim that we have given enough care to our parents.

Sant Tukaram has said "The person who own the three worlds and is without a mother - is in fact a begger".

Love you Mom. Without you we are nothing.

Dear Solnishka_108 - Please do not take the meaning in what I have written. It is just the Bhavartha - hidden meaning in what Saint Tukaram has said.

Sorry to hear about your Mom.

Mom

The term Home Maker is hardly understood, misused and even looked down upon like the word house wife! People have taken it for granted. They deserve far more importance and respect
