Food alone will not help reduce BP..once you have high BP, there is no other way than taking medicines for it..

Blood pressure can be reduce by balancing the diet..
for instance cutting SALT to 50% of your usual intake for a month will normalise the High BP in a Month. if the High BP is in teh range of 140/95 to 150/100 over this will require diet changes

Most of the diagnosis for Bp is perfunctory. The doctors won't even prescribe an electrolytic analysis of blood. This could in fact help thousands of patients who start and continue with life long medications(the doses of which keep on increasing) quite unnecessarily. When in fact just a balanced diet or food supplements could do the job pretty well.

even my experience also same... I had HBP 3months back, doctor gave med, I started taking regularly for a month but felt several other side effect. My coplleague gave me a book on HBP and I found a good idea abound the diseage. My doc advised to gradually curtail med dose, first few two weeks, half tablet, then alternative days half tablet, then I stopped. Ofcourse, I reduce my smoking from 12 to 4 cigerate a day and alternative day going to gym for 20-30 mins. Last one month, I am without medicine, I bought a digital BP meter and check it regularly. Thank GOD my BP is normal now..... I am very happy to get rid of medicine... wish other HPB ppl to get rid of harmful medicine by simple change of life style but STRICTLY in consultation with your doc., pls be informed that there are major incidence of stroke / heart attack while HPB patients stop medicine for few days. Good Luck....

Surprisingly PO did not speak about higher caste creating BP (PO relates higher caste, OBCs, SC/ST, etc) in all possible blogs.
