Sure Chennai Dosa, you have the right to the way you think. The Large Number of Scandals going on, have only reduced peoples faith in something good. Today every one wants to see a Scam behind everything good happening, thanks to Wikileaks and other media reports.

However, you need to see through, and discriminate. There are some genuine people still remaining in the world, whose Mission in Life is larger than Making money for themselves.
These people are doing their bit for Society, the very least we can do is to appreciate and acknowledge them instead of criticizing

hahah@Chennai dosa.. u seem to have a very narrow view of the world and its people..People like you will not do anything and when someone else does, you will be the first to pull them down. What do you know of the people who run the organization and their mentality to make such widely off the mark remarks. You are best left in US, don't come back to India. We have enough of people like you here.

As long as there is no security risk to the villagers, and as long as the industry does not get subverted for perverse businesses, rural Indians are excellent at hospitality.

Why should they not earn money from plain simple hosptiality?

There are lots of people who have eateries at their village homes much before this formal, advertised startup.

It is an ancient Indian custom to support travellers to religious places.

The important thing is that no perverse businesses or motives should be allowed to creep in.

Excellent Idea but do we need an MBA from XIM to start it. May be the seat could have been given to someone who had a dream to make it to the IIMs or XIM. Ofcourse not me :-)

Thanks and Congratulation.
This is really a good idea. We can also promote it with a good networking in Madhya Pradesh , Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand especially notified for tribal dominated and forest based area. With this juncture we will will also promote eco tourism and Rural tourism in India which has high demand in these days across the Globe.

Noble initiative to promote a sustainable system
by Alroy Rodrigues on Mar 23, 2011 10:14 AM

A self contained economic system in the form of villages has been the dream of Gandhiji. But merely supplanting urban amenities in villages without preserving the existing ecosystem would be shortsighted. Hence this initiative is to be applauded. Also a lot can be learnt from the village way of living what with extremes present in city life.
