men and women were not equal
by sagar on Mar 05, 2011 09:37 AM  | Hide replies

Nature has made some difference in women and men. Both were never equal and should not be. How many women can work in heavy steel and chemical industry in night shift. They can show by doing this. Ask women to drive lorry from kanyakumari to Kashmir. Can they drive at night. Can they work in mines? Can they work as masons, carpenters, loaders, porters etc. can they lift heavy weight. Can you compare a cow with an ox and use cow for ploughing field. can men stay at home and breast feed babies. Women are physically weak. Can they work in army. Can women wander in forest area at night like men do. Women are cowards. Why more women commit commit suicide then than men. Do not tell jhansi Rani laxmibai, she was exception and Marathi,

you are talking about two things..first that is true ..womens are physically weaker than men agree.. second you were talking abt nightshift driving etcetc etc.... so atleast 60 % women can do this but who will provide them security from some crazzy people like ..... no body rape a men in night if he is doing out door work driving etc.if you are talking about the mental strength womenss are not weaker then men only physicallly weak because it is god gift to them that they have an abliltiy to produce a life...not only men evry spices in word have male and female in them ...so you can not say that they are weaker...

Chanderkanta, stop bragging about women being ready to work in night shifts and about men being the cause of their problems. In earlier times, there were no machines and threat from nature was immense. Back then, women were quite happy to be tending to the house and children. Now, with nature's threat having receded and machines available, women want to play a competitive role with men rather than a complementary role. Moreover, women want only equal rights and not equal responsibilities. How many women are ready to provide their husbands? How many are ready to pay alimony and maintenance to their men? How many are ready to marry unemployed men? Can you answer that? You have no answer. Lastly, women want equality only where it suits them. All the dangerous and difficult, life-threatening and dirty work is still entrusted to men. Women never ask for equality there.

Basic Facility like Creche
by B B on Mar 04, 2011 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

Has anyone ever asked Infosys' NRN that why a company like Infosys, which has space for Shopping Complex, Multiplex & Cricket Ground inside the campus, does not have space for a Creche?? Isn't having creche in a company a greatest support for working mothers?

Basic Facility like Creche is essential but as we are following western pattern in Industry, we need to have good Creches in different parts of city as in USA. There are many chain of companies called 'Day Care" facilities in all cities of US, one such company is called "Tutor Time". You may please search on net how such facilities are run in US and what they provide. Even if few Indian companies like Infosys provide day care or creche facility for their employees, what about other working women in the city? Privatisation is to be completed, we are just beginning.

And as per indian company law, any company employing more than 30 women are supposed to provide creche facilties....but then in India the corporates, like politicians, can get away with anything!

Its not about being gender "driven" but about being gender "sensitive". the societies which have realised its importance have progressed fast and others lag behind.
