I lives in a small city and works for a cellular operator, earns 45k P/M. life is quite easy with no extensive travelling or waiting in long Q for bus or local train..small towns are affordable & at the end of the month i am easily saving 20 to 25 k.
Mumbai is not for all, you have to live the life there to understand it. You should be ready for some cut throat competition, long work hours and painful commute. If you are ready for this, you will see what I saw in Mumbai. Love it and Miss it a lot!!

Its good for youngsters in some ways. Otherwise quality of life is not good in most cases unless you are in the top 10 to 15% class.
You can get a much better quality of life in Pune,Bangalore and Hyderabad which are more safer , have affordable real estate, have lot of Jobs like in IT and much less painful commute.
Also these cities have much less pollution than mumbai and have less slums unlike Mumbai which has around 60% slums.
Bombay is a horrible place to live. Even if they give me a ton of money I will not. The first time I went there for a job interview 20 years back I decided never to go back again. I will anyday prefer to live on a modest salary in a small town and lead a better quality life.
Some fraud narration. There are no great management institutes in Mumbai except may be SoM of IIT B. Some fking school dropuot from rediif ventured on screening some masaledaar tv serial. These guys must be barred by law.
It is nothing but cheap unpaid labor for business. Instead, business schools should teach students to start own businesses and guide them for the real world.
earlier people from every state migrating to bombay and it was cosmoploitan city but now that has been stopped and mostly people from rural areas of maharstra migrating to this city and the result is bombay converted to slumbai.
