What nonsense is all this 100% its perhaps dogmatic view of a self styled so called premium college which is forcing students to be unrealistic data storage centers? The true success of any college lies in the fact that has it been able to produce any innovator or an Scientist of global repute or any scholar who has contribute to the country. What’s the point in producing hard disks that only do that to earn more money after their course by the way of corporate offers, and once these guys land up in corporate it’s a pain dealing with them there owing to their inflated egos. Sorry to say but education is in a total state of disarray.

Schooling is a farce.
by Raj on Jun 18, 2011 09:32 AM  | Hide replies

Students and their parents are living in a dream world.

There's a huge difference between Education and Schooling. Schooling is not true education. I know at least 4 guys who couldn't clear their graduation exams, including 1 who dropped out in his 2nd year - these guys are running highly profitable businesses and are doing exceptionally well in their lives.

Me - I refused to sit for my 3rd year papers and decided that the system is complete nonsense. Fortunately, I have always been into reading (I read a book a week) and using that Education, I launched my own little business. My four dropout 4 friends and I, together, employ over 250 people. In 2010, I could afford 6 holidays of 2 weeks each, only because I chose to drop out.

This is not to suggest that schooling is a waste - far from it - however, the importance we attach to schooling is ridiculous. The system is a farce and a life dependent on schooling is no life.

People need to be street-smart, they must seek knowledge to apply it and improve the condition of societies and businesses. Instead, most of these 'rankers' mug up and vomit the stuff on the answer sheets.
Can't blame the children though, they don't know any better. It's the parents and the society as a general that needs to reflect and change the condition. However, that's not happening any time soon.

Life is a huge canvas with lots of room to paint and splash. On this canvas, Schooling is a small speck in the dirtiest corner.

Scoring system is faulty or exam standard is low
by Animesh Naskar on Jun 17, 2011 05:46 PM  | Hide replies

How the hell can so many students score 100% ? Cent percent score means student knows everything of the subject which is absurd. Either the scoring system is lax, doesn't consider innovative solutions to problems or the syllabus/question paper is too low standard (non competitive) that every other student can answer. It seems even after raising the cut off to 100% there aren't enough seats available.

The root cause is the Govt which seems totally disinterested in Education and it social responsibility on this. Huge amount of money is being collected by the Govt as Education and Higher Education cess. Where are they spending this? Probably even God will be mesmerised! Pity is that the Govt can only bring in RTE and pressure the schools.
