Buddy, the price of OSX & Windows are not comparable till Apple allows OSX to run on non-Apple produced hardware. It's like Gillette selling the razor cheap, you got to buy their blades. Apple makes it's money on hardware & MS on software. Apple would like software to be very cheap & MS would like hardware to be very cheap. Conflicting objectives.
Can this be installed on a non-Mac machine? I have a HP G62x laptop running Windows 7 and I want to try out this new OS. Can I have a dual boot OS with Windows 7 and Mac OS X Lion?

Mac is totally different fro a PC. Running Mac OS on PC is impossible. But yes You can run windows on mac. That is the beauty of mac beside one do not need stupid drivers for everything. And there is no registry to get corrupt. deleting a program is also breeze, just drag the icon to the trash bin and all will be deleted without any trace or marring the performance of the machine. You can have a 1000 hard drives daisy chained, where as in PC you can't. Mac is a professional machine where as PC is for general use. And Mac do not come cheap. said that if you do wish to move from PC to mac like i did, then There is the Mini Mac a small 6X6X2 inch machine which is as powerful may be even more then a PC and cost about the same as or may be less then a PC and contains every thing a PC owner wishes for. Once you Installal a software you will not have to by it again all because it is a better version, Upgrades are automatic and free. If you install Lion 10 then it will be kept up to date for as long as you have it on your Mac. If you do not wish to change but need a better Os then go for Linux which is also free. You will never touch windows again.

@Sheetal, Hellooo? Which world are you from? No drivers required for Mac? More software available for Mac? Mac a professional machine-For which profession? Automatic updates? With Mac the yearly updates are charged for. Pleae dont show your ignorance here. Did you forget to add that Mini comes without peripherals? It's for a reason that Windows runs on 95% PCs worldwide. You can run Lion natively on PCs as suggested by vishnu or you can use virtualization software to run OSX on PCs.

It's very clear you've not used a Mac or not even seen it. I've been using it for many years and have never turned back to Windows based PC
