Thinnest laptop claim
by Hari on Jun 20, 2011 09:21 AM

That little asterisk led to small print that states: "Based on Dell internal analysis as at February 2011. Based on a thickness comparison (front and rear measurements) of other 15" laptop PCs manufactured by HP, Acer, Toshiba, Asus, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, MSI. No comparison made with Apple or other manufacturers not listed."

Convenient then, that the comparison against the MacBook Pro unibody was avoided, as Apple's offering is 0.95-inches in thickness.

The lesson here is simple: it's easy to be the best on the planet at something as long as you're selective about your comparison pool.

Dell products are crap. I had an horrible experience with Dell XPS 1645.
It heated up like a pan... Crashed often.. more than that, mother board failed just after warranty expiration. I will never buy a Dell product in my life.

They do not launch the old models after 12 months. What really happens is that they are ready with the next version and they have no place to dump the existing version models so they dump it in India.

Usally electronics good cost higher in India than in teh country they are manufactured for obvious reasons. The cost of laptops else where in the world is cheaper than India. It baffels when i think the reasons behind that.
