It's ridiculous that one can start driving at the age of 18, help choose a government at the age of 18, get married at 18 (women) and 21 (men), have legally acceptable intercourse at 18.. BUT cannot consume alcohol till the age of 25!
Alcohol should be allowed to drink on weekends - Friday, Saturday & Sunday but not on week days. Charge 300% more on weekdays & give 30 % discount subsidy on weekend. Let drinkers consume alcohol together & rarely. Wine is good over other spirits,, promote wine which help grape growing farmers aswell....

Well, I never knew that age of 25 a mutation happens that matures people to think better for themselves.
Hell, in that case let the age to cast vote be 25, because if at 25 you know whats better for you, then you should know whats better for your country. And while we are at it, lets make the marriageable age to 25 as well.
There is no need of drinking alcohol at any age and there are many people who would live life happily enough if they kicked alcohol out of their lives. If addiction is a need become a crusader for social causes, help the unfortunate, care for the needy and spread happiness as much as you can!
Indian law states that a guy can marry at 21, well if the law considers you to be mature enough to marry at 21 then why do you need the year of 25 to make a decision to drink alcohol or not??
Laws like this never have worked and never will work. Prohibition in Hariyana and Andhra Pradesh have been one of the biggest disasters of decision making ever.
Gujrath is a best example where officially its a dry state where sale and consuption of alcohol is banned, but its common knowledge that alcohol in Gujrat is more easily and freely avaliable than Milk. At 2 pm midnight you will not find a shop which sells milk but you will surely find a shady place selling Alcohol even on Gandhi Jayanti day.
Maharashtra should rethink this decision of increasing the age limit to 25. The age of 21 seems to be sane enough.
About Gujrat, its high time they remove this pseudo prohibition and permit sale of alcohol in the state.

For me is 14 years.. cause at present in India many school kids lost their V.. at this age or around this age ;)

So no need to start alcohol.. in fact some people dont grow mature till 40 or some people can have maturity at 20 .. it all depends..

i think if i am mature enough to decide what is best for my country (18 yrs) i should atleast be able to decide what i want to drink or not. it should be 18 hands down
