by the authors.. guess they have not gone beyond north india..
is aloogobi even a dish that is worth mentioning here.. then i think they have to mention all the vegetable side dishes, I take everyday along with my food.

my freind .. just like there is south indian veg , there is also north indian veg, this is mostly mughal ..

south indians use fermentation, onion garlic while cooking veg .. but north indian dont use any of these ..
There are fewer items for veg dishes, the list mainly includes non-veg, so it means people prefer non-veg more..anyways who cares to vote on cruelty to poor animals

i think the author is from different class unable to look at simple dishes. but economical items like haleem or south indian dishes like idly/dosa are very popular across india. they might not command the charm of the dishes listed but their value for money and popularity are quite high.
There never was, there never is and there never will be a wholesome dish like hyderabadi biryani. Favourful, moist, satisfying and not sweet like the kashmiri version and other biryani versions. Most other dishes on this list are punjabi with the same base masala.
