Poor Article

A lot of mistakes in the article. Having lived in the UK for 7, completing my Bachelors and Masters from there, I would like to point out the following mistakes in the article:

1) 2-Pin devices won't work in the UK: Most European countries have two-pin sockets and therefore two-pin adapters are very easily available in the UK.

2) Rented accommodation will not cover electricity and food: Atleast half of the advertised romms for rent cover electricity and gas and you can occasionally find one which also covers food.

3) you will need to produce a written letter of reference from your existing local bank in your country of residence : Totally rubbish and false statement. You only need an ID proof and an address proof (if you're new to the UK a letter from yout university confirming your address will suffice)

4) Avoid eating out, it's very expensive: Not entirely true. It's just like India, you can eat very cheaply or you can splurge. As you get to know the city you are in, you'll also get to know some really good and cheaps eateries which are frequented by students.

5) The NHS scheme does not cover dental and eye care.: Again very poor knowledge by the Author. It does cover everything for students (even international). If you're a student just ask for an exemption form from your dentist's receptionist and send it with proof of you being a full-time student to the specified address. You'll get free dental care and also free glasses if you need any.

6) Also keep useful medication like band aids, paracetamol and aspirin at hand. You will not be able to procure any medicine from the chemist without a relevant doctor prescription. : Totally wrong! Paracetamol, asprin, Ibuprofen, Cetrizine etc are all OTC (over the counter) medicines in the UK. They are even available in supermarkets and cornershops apart from the chemist and are very cheap(some places even cheaper than India).

Don't forget pain relief balms like Zandu or tiger balm.

It will come in good use when you get beaten up by those super racist British people.
