HR needs to be NOISY !!!
by Raja Srinivasan on Jul 14, 2011 01:07 PM

HR should not operate in "Stealthy Ninjas" mode (Ninjas strike and get out without being seen) as they do now. Hence their diffidence to get your ideas work and even become popular with employees.

HR should be "leading the change" and "taking the risks" - a transformational responsibility in these times of uncertainty. HR is the one department in the entire organization that represents "people" - the EMPLOYEES - the real engine of DIFFERENTIATION. This needs to be clearly brought out.

Each day that HR stays stealthy is another day your people are 'hidden' from the peers/seniors/top brass; and another day they are NOT seen as valuable. But HR managers, sadly, fail to understand this reality and that drives them to do and react the way they are shown to in the above piece.

HR needs to be NOISY; and to be LOUD.

Gone are the days when a company hires and grroms you.

Its all, about hiring ready made consultants and then firing them after the work gets done.

Now, tell me where does ethics, honesty, transperancy, sincerity and all come into picture.

It all boils down to your skillset and experience. You have that, any company would beg to take you in even in the most difficult times. You dont have that, even the best friends would dump you forever even during boom times.

SIMPLE.

Drawing the line between Org needs vs People's needs for effective output is something I'd love to learn. If you may.

End of the day it is business
by kiran kumar on Jul 13, 2011 06:48 PM

When a technician or a top manager malperforms, business suffers. Same way, when HR person malperforms, business suffers. One needs to understand that HR Manager is also part of the system and is also trying to contribute the goals of the organization. If his/her incorrect decisions are being overlooked, then it is an organizational failure.

HR Managers are bullshits !
by AAMEC CHEMINEER on Jul 13, 2011 04:18 PM  | Hide replies

Many HR Managers know only 3 terms - Roles & Responsibilities, KPI and Performance Appraisal but not the terms purpose.

They don't understand the real motivation needed by an employee to accomplish his / her roles and responsibilities.

When qualified HR people doesn't know to get the right things from an employee, they are bullshits only.

HR Managers are bullshits?? Bullshits? LOL.

No wonder you hate HR! Dude - LEARN to communicate properly. If you communicate like an illiterate, you will get the treatment that an illiterate deserves.

Invest in (and improve) yourself first, the world will invest in you later.

"When qualified HR people doesn't know..." LOL. Imbecile.
