what the article does not state is how to get a digital certificate for the purpose of registration. the income tax website stated in the article does not allow you to register without a digital certificate.

YOU HAVE TO CALCULATE YOUR TAX AND DEDUCTED TDS BALANCE TO BE DEPOSIT
Yes.It has become easy now to file the tax now. Websites like taxspanner.com are doing filing returns for Rs99/- only.I was doing filing returns through an agent for Rs150-200/- for 10 years. This year I have two form-16s as i worked for two companies. When i went to a one CA guy,He told that he charges Rs1500/-(not for generating digital signatures and only for e-filing and sending the ITR-V by post). Then i decided to do it by myself and it was quite easy with taxspanner.com.There may be similar sites available and it is not impossible to by oneself.
The recent notification by CBDT that all assessees coming under tax audit to use digital signature to file tax returns is another scam as the digital signature providers are getting huge advantages at the cost of assessees. the assesees need only sent a copy of the ITR_V to Bangalore by post after putting their signature and the cost was just Rs,5/-only. Now they have to spent yearly about Rs.1500/- for their digital signatures.

goyalji, the hapless assessees are put in to unnecessary difficulties by the CBDT. tHE POSTS DEPT is losing and private ds PROVIDERS ARE GAINING.
