Hi Rajeev...excellent analysis..In fact yo have only spoken my mind.I to had been researching the exisiting IC engines and their power transmission technology so far...and i always felt that the present connecting rod is a massive wastage of power..the only present useful soution seems to be a rear fitted engine colnnected to the rear axle through a much shorter rod minimising wastage of torque.

Most vehicles are with front drives this days so no connecting rod. Only Omni with connection rod still runs 17kmpl
