Its a hype only. By competing in exams having silly English lanuage (grammer) rattufying difficult words, mugging logical explanations, can any one a good businessmen not at all. It is a western concept. The IIM's only teaches how to be selfish, mean and cheat others and plunder money from Companies you are working with.
I have tried CAT a couple of times, and must say that the exam is nowhere near what it is hyped about. All this guy above has done is mugged up English synonyms and grammar rules. And shortcuts and vedic maths. How on earth are these gonna make a difference in the world of business administration. And who says you need higher degrees to make a mark. Bill gates, mark sodenberg(facebook) are all college dropouts, and didnt need to mug up english/raio and proportion etc to get into so called B schools. IIMs are money making institutions, and just eyewash indian guys. I am not an MBa, but doing well and happy.

You may be right but at the end of the day you have to show certificates for getting good jobs initially otherwise after toiling (jutey chatkaney key bad )you can achieve your goals

my dear friend honestly speaking(i am an undergrad) i hv not attempted CAT(and i dont even wnt to do so)what i want to say is(though my language is bit inappropiate) that MBA is the crappest course to pursue(this is my personal view and i am quite convinced abt it)bcoz some skills like business, acting, writing cannot be taught it is an innate talent(of course there is accounting, laws, economics but you can hire someone!)but since MBA is a 'BUSINESS' degree therefore i think there is no point in doing MBA( waste of time and money)and though i appreciate this '100 percentile guy' for doing btech in computer science but still i think that his decision of doing MBA is CRAP instead he must pursue mtech/research boz right now india needs a lot of scientists and engineers to do some good research rather than these MBAs(idiots) who are only good in making powerpoint presentations which even an eight grade boy/girl can do!.finally i am really sorry to you(may be you are an MBA!) and to all MBAs for my comment(bcoz i knw it is tough to face truth!)

Silly but an expected reply from people who fail to clear the hurdle. Dear Sir, MBA is not a degree in Business; but one in its Adminstration, that gives a lot of insight if you properly study the books; not for the sole purpose of passing the exams and scoring high but in order to learn and develop your personal skills ...more aptly to sharpen your business instincts. Its something like being clinical enough like Fedrer in a sport like lawn tennis...not just talent but being there to lead when the whole world looks on....striving to get past you. No doubt , there will be a day when u will meet a match in younger generation as he found in NADAL....still you will be a leader undoubtedly successful , atleast in life and on personal fronts where others will admire your acheivements intimes to come

u r correct mr.kumar, but the point is than an MBA ensures a hefty pay packet, but undergraduate courses dont..won't u agree?
Again you see an Engineer joining MBA program and completely agrees with his answers that He Have not decided yet on majority of the things. I appreciate his effort but to be honest we people are not sure what we want to achieve and try to get everything available...In any case best of luck kid:):)
This Ganesh Nadad must be a fool. He is asking a 21 year old 4th year Engineering Student at IIT Chennai about work experience. What reply he was expecting? that since his father did not affort even Idli Sambhar, he was washing dishes at IIT canteen in his spare time? the standard of journalists is going down day by day if you ask me. It is a well known fact that IIMs do not really emphasize on work experience. For candidates scoring 100% percentile admission to IIMs is for taking. If not in case of Mr Manohar Anand, he must already have been admitted to many US universities or he may at least 10 job offers. Options are end less

From where do the blue collars come from? (u must be knowing because you r 1 of them!)
Just say it up and straight, you wanted to join a rich foreign investment banker and joined IIM NOT for passion or interest, but getting a big job. Congratulations anyways young man.
