I find it hard to believe that women's plight is that bad in modern India. Most families that I see, women actually have a lot more say and control than the man. Not that there is anything wrong with that, whatever works for the family.

have you visited a typical rural or semi-urban areas here in the north? Women have control! Yeah, and pigs can fly and horses can speak.
