-I have seen so many Indians(including me) respect, mingle and integrate with British culture. -I have seen many Indians wear a poppy and observe two-minute silence -About speaking English almost all Indians who have been here for a while(say 6 months) do this at their work place, parties etc. -Although it's wrong to speak loudly on trains and buses, which some British people do by the way, you cannot expect someone to speak in English on phone which is a private conversation. This negates the whole "tolerance" point. -Indian don't say thank you???!!! seriously have you ever met any Indians in the UK?

I have recently completed 10 years in the UK. I came here to work and have closely followed the Indian community in the country. I applaud the comments on British values of tolerance and fairness. Britain has strict laws on racial discrimination, take the case of Stephen Lawrence and a few others which are still being dealt with even after decades. Also the racist womans tirade on the tram was spot on. But all these events are a sign of Britain becoming more violent and the law unable to control the elements of it's society which commit crimes. It is wrong to say that Indians don't integrate, I am appalled at the statement. What about the many muslims living in this country many of whom wear religious outfits such as the hijab, grow facial hair, etc. Why are they not attacked ? Many of the men work in shops which close late in the nights and people use the streets to go home and this is all over the country and not just in London. They stand out much more than the people who shout on the phones or talk in their language. I have seen Polish, Lithuanians, Russians, brazilians and spanish etc who forever speak in their language on the public transport, but don't get frowned upon or it hardly batters anyones eye lids. Why only Indians ?? The reason is simple, they are easy targets, India is the land of the Gandhi where non-violence is the best approach and do not retaliate, hence often seen as soft targets. Just go on youtube and see the racist chants thrown around.

in winter it gets dark at 430...the town becomes dead at 530 pm..i always had to go to dinner outside in freezing cold and a handful of walkers outside in deserted street and alleys....however i never faced trouble...it was not advisable but i backed myself to fend off atleast two attackers and had numbers of police ready in my cell.

How come the word coloured is used by the writer of this article ? Just last week football pundit Alan Hansen used the word to describe black footballers and had to apologise! Rediff please take note of this.

The sad truth is that crooked westerners are looting us now in name of high education and after looting the trillions throwing out the students using all sorts of dirty tricks, of course there may be 1 or 2% of indians who may have got good jobs, but majority NOT! My friends in england tell me that when indians and indian students report any crime committed on them by westreners, the police DOES NOT register even complaints and TAKE NO actions whatever to solve the crime or to catch the culprits, BUT ven if a white skinned westerner reports loss of one pound from his pocket in atrain or bus, the police will go all out to solve that crime and ctach the suspects within a few hours, but since they treat indians as slaves the british ers and eurpeans fo NOT care for safety or lives of indians and see even after 3 days, no culprit has been arrested for this ghastly crime of murder.What a Shame these britishers and europeans are racists and rascals of first degree.Westerners have Been Fooling& Looting Third World& Fourth world black&coloured people including Indians& Hindus for the past 1000 years& more& how many people know that the whole of America& Canada& Australia&new zealand was Bought or SNATCHED by christian europeans by fooling the red Indians& aborigines& helpless poeple by paying a total of less than 100000 dollars& also these barbarians eliminated by genocide millions of red indians&aborigines&non-white population
