How to avoid trouble in the UK
by Ajit Birdi on Dec 31, 2011 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

I have livid here for 46 years, and never had or seen any trouble.
On can not clap with one hand, there has to be some kind of tiff and that costed the young man his life.
Most of the time trouble brews up when Indians (freshies, new to the country) think that every white women is a loose women and will get ready to sleep with them on first approach.
Second when they bring in and boast about their colonial past.
Eying some ones girl is a biggest mistake made in this country,
Just don't behave as you did in India, there is no such thing as Eve teasing and purposing here.
NO means NO in UK.
Keep that in mind and live happily here in UK, no one will even move a lid of the eye on you.
Respect elders regardless of who they are.
If some one is abusive move away.
If one is followed for any reason report it to the police.
Unlike India where no one cares, UK has a law and order follow it.
Finally just mind your own business and don't Try to correct any one you don't know, people of UK don't like it.
finally don't argue with the police, Remember Police is the Law and you are not.
Don't even think of swearing at a Police officer let alone doing it.
Ask a question politely and you will get all the help you need.
You don't have to pay a bribe like India to get any thing or any where.

Indian subcontinent population of UK is nearly 4 million and all get along very well without any trouble.
There are Temples, Mandirs, Masjids Gurudwaras and much more here and there never has been any problem. On or two mishaps here and there in a 5 to 10 years in not counted as trouble.
Every one go out to enjoy Friday nights here with all races and communities together and all without a single incidence.

Tight slap to Western hype
by India Desi on Dec 28, 2011 12:51 PM

This article itself is tight slap to all the people who constantly hype the west. They at the same time hide the severe social and individual level problems widespread in the west to gain importance.

Anybody who wants to visit or work in the west should be well aware what they are getting into in the short and long term. Desis especially are on the receiving end most of the times and lead superficial and depressed lives in the west.

The advice given in the article is mostly to convert the desis into ideal well behaved slaves who are supposed to keep mum irrespect of how bad the firangi behaves. All this to save your jobs. Typical AP behaviour.

One important point!!!!!!!!!!
by hariharan s on Dec 28, 2011 01:23 AM  | Hide replies

The muggers who ask for money are usually armed with a knife or a gun...So dont try to act like a hero...Also especially many muggers are quite friendly...thy ask us for 10 or 20...Its better to smile and give them the amount rather than stare at them as it infuriates them and they brandish their weapons and ask us to empty our purses,iphone..

One things Indians need to avoid is the ghetto mentality..We shdnt infest a place just bcos its cheap and many indians live there...this will create a soft target for muggers and racists who target people going there

Keep your head down while dealing with Mugger, this will show Respect as he is a Britisher. In India, don't even give 1 Rs to children / old people on street and talk to them in Desi Basha !!

invest in a car, period. it is a bit expensive to maintain (MOT, insurance, fuel) but not worth risking your life...OR stay home after 6 PM.

Dude..its easy to buy a car....But u need to pay around 150 for insurance,600-700 per yr for parking,if u live in metros like London,NY,LA..plus additional parking u need to pay wherever u go...
Thats even locals there use trains and take rental car in case they wanna go out

Staying home is always cheaper and safer!

After all, you have gone there to get a higher education and not to take in the sights like a tourist!

oh ya...don't stare at people, if some one stares at you and you feel like being attacked, please smile and speak something (if you can't run :)...and maintain some distance...when talking to people, Brits for some reason don't like to stay too close to strangers...
