Weight is a bogey
by Niraj Prasad on Aug 13, 2011 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

Being overweight is a bogey unnecessarily created by a over-self-conscious age. What do you lose if you do not have a six pack ? Worry about weight only if you have a belly more than 90 cms. If not, just do not worry about weight ... in fact, I would suggest you not to even measure it.

Do exercise for good fitness. And keep in mind these things, in addition to what CRBCODER has said below -

1. Buy a treadmill or an exercise-bike in your home. Do about 30 minutes on it thrice or four times a week. No need to buy membership of an expensive gym.

2. Mix some free hand (zero equipment) exercises like chinups, situps, crunches, dips, squats, etc with your treadmill or bike.

3. Try to walk as much as possible and use stairs if you can. Do not try stairs if you are old and not used to it.

4. Do not worry too much about food. Basically eat whatever you like, but cut down on obviously oily things like samosa, pakoras, bhujias, fried sweets. Instead take a toasted bread slice, smear butter and jam over it and eat it. It will cure all the cravings for fatty things. In case you want spicy things, put a slice of cheese on that bread, sprinkle some salt, chilly and pepper. Then microwave it for 20 seconds. Put sliced tomatoes on top of it. Microwave it for 10 more seconds. You will have an excellent home made pizza which is very low on calories too.

5. Do not cut down on your staple food. When it is time to eat rice/chapati/subzi/dal do not hesitate. If you cut down on these items, you are only likely to pile on junk food like creamy biscuits, pastries, kurkures, etc.

6. Stay away from all the obesity reducing clinics. The only thing they will reduce is your money.

7. Do not even think about buying the super duper new gadget you see on TV, which promises to give you a six pack in just 10 days. There is no such thing. And a six pack is not a very healthy thing anyway. Even body builders keep six pack only for the short duration of competition. for the rest of the time, they eat huge amount of food and work out very very heavily. there is hardly any six pack on them during non competition days.

8. finally about strength training. join a gym if ONLY you are interested in becoming stronger. a six pack is a WRONG motivation (I cannot overemphasize it). work hard in the gym to increase strength and muscle. do not worry about your body weight.

Good advise Niraj...look at the advertisements on TV/Paper for exercise gadgets, Oils and tablets for weight reduction. These are very expensive and produce no result or adverse results. The only beneficiery is the producers of these goodies. So do the normal exercise and eat sensibly. Keep away from drugs, steroids etc. Practice Yoga. You will enjoy life.

The only way to weight loss
by CBRCODER on Aug 12, 2011 06:12 PM  | Hide replies

The only way to achieve healthy weight loss is daily exercise and eat 80% of your normal diet. Cut down sweets.

This will give you permanent results. Also by healthy weight loss I mean target just 2kgs/month. Don't fall prey to "loose 5kgs in month" etc. Loosing more than 2kg/month is harmful for body and skin.

with lot of experiments i conclude , there is no magic formula like pills.poders, tes etc.which will loose your weight.
It is only diet habbits and daily exercise which can take care of your weight. Anythig else is false !
