why dont you take a larger sample size inorder to accomodate more colleges ?.Data collected from these colleges by reliable sources be published for ranking.
India is way behind, see the African graduates. They are comfortably performing laratomy, ceasar and other medical emergencies. Indian graduates are incomplete doctors.
Indian MBBS degree is like a Diploma from a trade school. Right after school, these kids are trained to be a physiican woth out knowing the basic science. They are not proficient in subjects like Organic Chemistry, bio chemistry, physics that can train them in drug dosages etc. My wife, a gold medalist graduate from one of the top ten colleges that is mentioned in this article wrote a letter to her Dean after training in the U.K. and the U.S. about improving the education standards. She did not receive any response. When she went back home and asked for an appointment to meet the Dean, she was curtly told "he is busy".
Only advantage Indian Medical Schools have is a large patient population and training through trial and error. No wonder there are many casualities in the hospitals. We should have a sound legal system that would punish the "Quacks" and the "Degree holding Illiterates".

People like you won't understand what it takes to clear a MBBS entrance. You are saying that the doctors are not proficient in organic chemistry, biochemistry etc etc.... well, you should check out those subjects which an aspirant needs to clear his/her MBBS entrance.you will get your answer.Even students who clear mbbs entrances are highly qualified as they clear very tough competition and as these intelligent students are allowed to study MBBS, the result comes out to be highly qualified doctors & unlike foreign countries which request indian students to study in their respective institutions (eg- russia, china etc) to fill their own seats as there is no competition there. If anyone doesn't believe me, checkout for yourself.
What r the criteria for judgement of these surveys and subsequent rankings...?? and REDIFF plzzzz get your facts right. Those five courses are not the only ones offered in it's '160 acre' campus..Infact it offers courses in most of the medical streams recognized by MCI (as undergraduate, PG and Superspeciality)...it's understandable that all of them can't be listed..so, better refrain from mentioning a few of them which can be misleading..!! Moreover,it is free from any kind of politics, in admission process or teaching or training...The esteemed faculty doesn't indulge in Private practice, which is rampant in most of the other colleges, thus giving full time n efforts to students...... AFMC is also about character and personality building (they do not make doctors only..!!) a complete package....The students who pass out from AFMC as military medical officers, go and serve the nation (military as well as civil patients) rather than minting money...Also, you get admission based only on your merits, NO Reservation Quotas...!!
Many colleges in the list are filled with filthy politics, leaving teaching-learning as an orphan in the corner; still they get into the list based on an outsiders' view considering past laurels
