Yoga is being strongly pushed in India as physical fitness exercise. It is not. Weight training, aerobics and stretching and bending exercises are for physical fitness. Yoga is for training the mind to concentrate for deep contemplation. It is sad to see that even young children are being encouraged to practice Yoga in stead of doing good round of fitness exercises. For the aged who have have never done any exercise before, Yoga may prove to be physical exercise, but for the young, vigorous physical fitness exercise is a must. Many persons in their twenties and thirties are turning to physical exercise with specific aims of shedding kilos or developing six-pack abs, but exercise should be done with the overall aim of being fully physically fit. That will take care of the extra kilos, the health of the heart, prevent diabetes, strengthen the bones and blood circulation system and, among the adolescents, ensure hormonal balance and good growh as men and women. People may prefer Yoga because it sounds 'oh so nice', but be assured, it will not give you physical fitness, unless you are so weak that taking up a demanding exercise schedule is not possible for you. Make the closest gym the place to be at every day. I have exercised for wellnigh fifty years now, I can vouch for the efficacy of a challenging physical training program.

Mr. Suresh, Have watched the telecast of Baba Ramdev every morning. Apart from Asanas he also tells you excercises for whole body and doing them at home is enough for your fitness.
I guess you have some GYM plagued by low enrollment and trying to play down the benefits of doing yoga at home, in order to get your GYM going.
Of all the Yoga gurus you could invite, do you have to keep featuring only this quack?! Time and again, readers have exposed her asanas as grossly faulty, even misleading. In country like India, of all the magnificent Yoga gurus, why do you keep featuring this loser?
