I have lived in Delhi for a long long time. It just does not hold a candle to Mumbai and Bangalore. Delhi is a typical north Indian, semi cultured, filthy, arrogant place. People are unhelpful and rude. It is not a cosmopolitan place, it is a place full of UPites, Biharis, Punjabis. Mumbai and Bangalore are two truly cosmopolitan cities in India. Delhi is dead at night, and very unsafe for women. A woman is safe at 2 am in MUmbai and women dont think twice before going out and travelling alone home at 2 or 3 in the morning in Mumbai. A woman doing the same in Delhi would basically be writing her own death sentence...or is sure to be molested or raped.
Rapes reported almost everyday. Women not safe to travel alone. Taxi/autos are not consumer-friendly. Unbridled machismo on display. Ppl not so professional.
Compare this to Mumbai, and you know which city is better. Having said that, no indian city compares to western cities.

Ahmed SHah seems to be quite obssessive about rapes in |Delhi. I wonder where this is coming from. perhaps next time you see someone being harrassed-instead of laughing about it maybe have the guts to stand up against it. it is people who make a place what it is. n BTW the Delhi Metro can put any and all metros to shame. its better than most metros abroad too. for the cynic talking about transport cost, paying money to get kids in schools etc. all the friends we have in delhi are intelligent and well off-cud easily afford to pay - but none of them needed to. its called merit. perhaps spend time with your child preparing them for the entrances/interviews for the schools instead of wanting to buy your way in. and schools usually have school buses - so i dont understand your point. on the other hand you can get from Noida to Gurgaon in an hr and 15 mins in an AC metro for just 25Rs. no hanging by the edges and falling on the tracks like some other metros, no fishy, stinky environment either. dont generalise pls-because that's like saying "All Indians are cheap and lewd". a general statement that would not hold true for everyone for sure.
