Yesterday on the news i learnt that one of the MBA grads started his own coconut water selling business under some brand....i could not stop laughing.......

In olden days we use to find BSc, Bcom, BA's doing the same like jobs....becuase there were no other jobs

All these MBA colleges are making the MBA degree a must for the indian students by tying up with corporates....poor indian parents have to pay their hard earned money now for 2 more years post graduation.

You laughed because you are grossly ignorant. Branding indian food like paratha, dosa and drinks like lime juice, cocunit water is very important.

MBA is all GAS and little SUBSTANCE
by M on Apr 06, 2011 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

MBA is all GAS rather and very little SUBSTANCE.
Its just a Money making exercise for lots of lusty fellas ;candidates as well as trainers;

It simply does not fit into Indian-Academics nor incoherence with Indian Commerce.

Management Education in India is a scam !!
by Count Meout on Apr 06, 2011 02:13 PM  | Hide replies

There is very less rigour and very little effort and achievement in the area of research. Do our management institutes and Management Universities practice what they preach, the answer is 'NO'. Hence, there is a huge disconnect between 'Management Education' and the 'Practice of Management'. This is also one of the reasons, why management graduates struggle to establish themselves in the West into Management roles. They are forced to learn the hard way. Anyways. it is just waste of time discussing this issue. Management Institutions are not going to change. Management Education is nothing but glorifies 'M.Com' in India. One may wonder why should a course like M.Com exist. Happens only India.

I agree. My take is that top ranking institutes act as channels for the corporate world to recruit people with high IQ, EQ and language skill. If they are directly hired after getting selected in top business schools, they will probably be as effective or may be even more effective than they are after completing 3 more years of GAS study. Rest of the institutions who do not merit such influx of candidates with high IQ, EQ and language skills, are essentially worthless.

M com is about accountancy and taxation. Accountancy is not just adding and subtracting. You will not get salary on time if good accountants are not there. Your organization would not survive if cash inflow is not matched with outflows. You have to be better than your competitions. Can you calculate the accounting cost of everything happens with an organization. say loss of customers. If an organization performs properly consumers will gain society will gain.

In sum I would say can you take 100% correct decisions...or even 70%. Suppose organizations starts taking good decisions westing little resources, what will happen to the society. We all are dependent on management for our better life and it is the most important thing we learn. Management is not just about MBA....mahabarat..ramayan...kuran...constitution of india ...all are about management....world is mucm much more complex than you perceive...there are mountains to concure.... we hvae to get the order of heaven.... people indeed indeed are very confusd about management education ...including teachers..who do not want to move beyond story telling as they are not good for anything...inefficient criminals...and idiot students who feel that MBA means bossing, boasting and cheating and they become a spacial creatures in the world.
